ELECTIONS 2014 and YOUTH

The 2014 elections which are taking place in nine phases of India which are the longest elections in the history. These elections are running from 7th april to 12th may. In this digital era the entire idea of elections is changing for the Indian Youths. Election no longer remain a sport for the older lot as the young generation are paving into the game with enthusiasm and hope to change the country for betterment. the youths have already pulled up their socks and are ready to face the most expensive election that ever took place in Indian History- The Lok Sabha Election 2014.

This election there are so many political parties but the top three in the battlefiled are the Congress, BJP, and AAP. All the three parties created their manifestos and making youth centric advertisements keeping the youths in mind, however this time the youths are not ready to be the bait instead they want to be the game changer. They want growth and development in the field of education, employment, control inflation and many other things. This time the youths are definitely not happy with Congress and so they will rather choose MODI or kejrival as their leader but have to emerge out as the winner because they see their passion inside him.

INCREDIBLE INDIA

As a journalist when i rome around different parts of the country I have experienced different cultures and living style of the people. Geographically India is spread very far with different traditions and cultures. people living in different states has their own cultures and ways of living their life. As India is divided in 4 parts EAST, WEST, NORTH AND SOUTH. Every part has their own importance. The cultures differ in terms of festivals, attires, marriage ceremonies , cuisines and different dance forms. India is a place where we have so much variety of different things that one can not imagine. While working I personally experienced Different cuisines from south, north etc. As i was staying in Gujarat for few months there i loved to have Dhokla, thepla etc as this was their main cuisine. Also in Punjab sarson ka saag and makki ki roti and lassi is mostly served to the guests.

If we talk about the marriage ceremonies, hindu marriage is done by priests chanting mantras and whereas sikh marriages are done in Gurudwara where they take 4 rounds of their holy book "GURU GRANTH SAHIB". In muslims girl and boy sit on the opposite sides and they answer to the question "kabool hai". On the other side bengali marriages, marathi marriages has their own tradition of doing. Also the attires are different according to the states . in punjab Salwar kameez is popular whereas in maharashtra and other states sarees are mostly worn by women. Different womens of different states where the dresses which are accoding to their tradition.

Festivals are also different according to states as when i was in Gujarat their they celebrate festival of navratre with so much enthusiasm and for that they start preparing from so long. In punjab baisakhi, diwali etc these are celebrated whereas in maharashtra Ganpati mahotsav is celebrated.

So i can say that by roming in different states i saw different cultures, traditions and the living style of the people which shows that our India is one and that is INCREDIBLE INDIA.

WOMENS ARE IN BIG THREAT

"Womens are the ornaments of society" then why the condition of women is so worse? Earlier womens were deprived of education. also they were not given any priveledges. The society was male dominant and was ruled by the males only but now women are on top supremacy and have won over intelligence of men. We can see the biggest examples of Lata Mangeshkar, Kalpana Chawla, Kiran Bedi and many more. Then after reaching to such a place why womens are treated as an attraction symbol for men ? Why daily we hear the news of Rape, Domestic violence, sexual harrasment etc. these are the common things which we hear now. Parents are scared to send their girls out because of the environment in which we are living.

If we see the newspapers daily we have some or the other news related to the women's condition. If we see the case of Nirbhaya some people said that it was girl's mistake as she was roaming out at night and she was wearing short clothes so as to seduce the men and thats why she was raped. But i dont understand why girls cant go out like boys? why they cant move freely like them? why they have so much restrictions to live in society? Its because of the way the men treat them. On the other side Domestic Violence and Dowry cases are common now. Its the time where we have to stop fooling ourselves thinking that one day society will respect us. We should be quite and everything will be fine one day.. They will stop domestic violence, there will be no rape, there will be no burn cases for dowry, they will not torture us for giving birth to a baby girl. Putting finger on your lips and tolerating everything is no solution. One has to raise voice against the wrong doings so as to live in a better world.

The potrayal of women in society, in movies, advertisements shows that they are treated as an object which will earn them high amount of money. womens are not getting the place which they deserve. Therefore according to me everyone should raise voice against the wrong things which they see around happening with the women. May be one voice can save so many girls out in the society. Its high time for girls tolerating such things.
